What is the very best for thick hair with Flatiron fairly tight curls?

I swore on my CHI flat iron. BUT, it recently broke. I did not want to spend $ 100 + on a new one right now so I decided to give a cheaper one a try. I got the Remington Nano Silver Slim Straightener TStudio. It's at Target for like $ 40 I think It works GREAT! I'm not sure how long your fiance's hair is, mine is about shoulder length now but it was to the middle of my back about a month ago. But my hair is super thick and really curly. . . . very hard to straighten and I'm almost the only person that can do it, lol. And it works wonderful on mine. In my experience, it's all about what you do BEFORE you use the flat iron. There is a serum-called BioSilk that I use religiously. It's available at any CVS, Target, Beauty Store, etc. Kinda pricey. . . but worth it. Take a small amount (again, not sure how long her hair is not …. but be sure to use too much so it does not weigh the hair down), rub it between your hands and work through hair. My hair is shoulder length and I use about a quarter size amount. If you can t get BioSilk, Try BioInfusion. Those two work the best. Most others are water-based serums. Water = frizz / curls with our kind of hair. Make sure she gets a really good round brush?. one that says anything about smoothing or straightening on the package. Again, if, her hair is long, get a larger one. Blow dry hair with the round brush in small sections. Keep turning the brush as you go. Get a pretty decent hair dryer with an attachment called a concentrator and make sure to have the air pointing down so it doesn t blow the hair up it? Ll make it less smooth if it's pointed upwards and will cause more breakage. Any hair dryer that says Ionic or Ceramic is good. Do the whole head in small sections like that. Then again with the flat iron sections. IMPORTANT – when using all this heat on her hair, make sure she has a good heat spray. I have treseme and it works well. You need something to protect the hair from Frying. If there are still fly aways try adding a tiny bit more BioSilk on the dry hair. So, try to get a good smoothing shampoo and conditioner. The expensive stuff is best. But Suave has a smoothing shampoo and conditioner bottles in orange. They say? Compare to matrix? and they really do work almost just as well. She may want to finish off with a humidity-resistant hair spray. I hope this helps her is I know how tough it can be. And it takes lots of practice. Let me know if she has any other questions!
